Recruiter responsibilities include identifying, screening, interviewing, and referring applicants who are interested in attending the New Mexico National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy. Recruiters are responsible for scheduling and conducting recruiting orientations for prospective candidates at various locations throughout the state of New Mexico. Recruiters will also maintain an admissions database and input admissions data to track candidate information and key recruitment contacts. 

Stock Clerk


This position is responsible for ordering, receiving, distributing, and storing supplies, materials, and equipment (such as Cadet uniforms) at the New Mexico National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy (NMNGYCA).  This position is also responsible for following up on work orders and purchase orders and conducting and maintaining an official inventory of all supplies, equipment, and property for the NMNGYCA.

Case Manager


Case Managers are responsible for supporting an appropriate number of Cadets by collecting, maintaining, recording, and entering data into the program's database for tracking purposes during the residential and post residential phases of a Cadets enrollment. During the residential phase, the Case Manager is responsible for providing instruction to Cadets on goal setting and assisting the Cadet with the development of a post-residential action plan to ensure the Cadets' future success. Upon completion of the residential phase, the Case Manager is responsible for maintaining contact with the Cadets and their assigned Mentor throughout the twelve (12) month post-residential phase via phone, mail, or email to track and monitor the Cadet's success and ensuring the mentor relationship is meeting program criteria.

Education Coordinator


The Education Coordinator serves as the liaison between Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU-R) in Roswell and the NM National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy (YCA) and ensures that all Adult Education and Vocational programs for the Cadets enrolled at the YCA are relevant.  The Education Coordinator is responsible for developing instructional programs that meet YCA guidelines, such as a credit recovery program, and works with ENMU educators to ensure effective classroom implementation.  The Education Coordinator schedules and monitors all classroom instruction provided to Cadets by EMNU, in addition to assessing the effectiveness of all educational programs delivered to the Cadets. The position meets with Cadets to provide guidance on how to best take advantage of available courses and tracks their results.



Cadre will administer and teach Cadets disciplinary processes and provide direct instruction in the New Mexico National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy's Eight Core Components, and conduct and participate in daily physical training related exercises.  The Cadre applies military practices and principles of guiding and training Cadets while exercising responsibility for the daily activities of Cadets on an assigned team. Position will provide military structure, discipline and training of the student Cadet Corps on a 24/7 basis. Cadre will coordinate student daily and weekly schedules with each other to ensure that academic, physical training and personal development are completed and program goals are met.
