Current Openings




Recruiter responsibilities include identifying, screening, interviewing, and referring applicants who are interested in attending the New Mexico National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy. Recruiters are responsible for scheduling and conducting recruiting orientations for prospective candidates at various locations throughout the state of New Mexico. Recruiters will also maintain an admissions database and input admissions data to track candidate information and key recruitment contacts. 


Training Coordinator


This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and administering and assessing comprehensive training and development programs for the New Mexico Youth ChalleNGe Academy (NMYCA) workforce.  The Training Coordinator will evaluate current training and development initiatives, assess training and development needs and recommend enhancements to staff training programs.  Position will provide classroom training, on-line training, webinars and distance learning. Incumbent will be responsible for assessment and tracking attendance to ensure agency compliance. The Training Coordinator ensures all training programs/materials are up to date and in accordance with State and Federal requirements, as well as National Guard Bureau standards.

Case Manager


Case Managers are responsible for supporting an appropriate number of Cadets by collecting, maintaining, recording, and entering data into the program's database for tracking purposes during the residential and post residential phases of a Cadets enrollment. During the residential phase, the Case Manager is responsible for providing instruction to Cadets on goal setting and assisting the Cadet with the development of a post-residential action plan to ensure the Cadets' future success. Upon completion of the residential phase, the Case Manager is responsible for maintaining contact with the Cadets and their assigned Mentor throughout the twelve (12) month post-residential phase via phone, mail, or email to track and monitor the Cadet's success and ensuring the mentor relationship is meeting program criteria.

Maintenance and Grounds Worker


The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the daily maintenance, grounds keeping and operation of the New Mexico Youth ChalleNGe Academy, a quasi-military residential school for at-risk youth comprised of an administration building, two (2) multi-story barracks buildings and a training yard. The Maintenance and Grounds Worker performs routine maintenance to ensure that machinery continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and facilities remain in good repair.  Duties may involve lawn mowing, snow removal and clearing debris from walkways; pipe fitting; boiler making; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.
